Dandira Viega From Cape Verde: Miss West Africa International VI

Cape Verdean model Dandira Veiga was crowned Miss West Africa International 2018/2019. The beauty contest took place on Saturday, January 4, in The Gambia, and was attended by 15 countries. The contestant from Gambia, host country of the contest, Mariatou Sarr was elected first lady and the second-lady sash went to Nigeria’s candidate, Ilesanmi Justina Ifeoluwa.

It is worth remembering that this is the second time that Cape Verde has won this beauty contest. In 2011, Cape Verdean model Vanny Reis was crowned Miss West Africa International, being the first Cape Verdean to obtain such a title.

Miss West Africa International is already in its 6th edition and in 2012 the event was held in Praia. Born in the area of ​​Paiol, in the city of Praia, Dandira Veiga was elected Miss Praia and first lady at Miss Cape Verde 2016 and in November 2018 she represented Cape Verde in the Miss University Africa contest.
