Charitable work is very important to Marlene Fortes, our Miss West Africa São Tomé e Príncipe. She recently spoke to us about the work she has done for a local homeless charity in Portugal:
“I work with the Help the Homeless Association, and launched a campaign to purchase food for the association to help the homeless as I feel it is very important if we can help those who have nothing.”
“At the invitation of Columbus Technical College in Setubal I helped gave a workshop there and collected the milk all the students had gathered to give the Association. It was very emotional listening during the talk to learn that with so little we can make happy those who have nothing to eat, wear, and no place to sleep because poverty made them so, and not all of us are fortunate to be born with everything.”
