MWA Int 2013: Day 4 – Visit to Cidade Velha
Today the queens visited the oldest settlement in Cape Verde, Cidade Velha. The city center used to serve as the capital of Cape Verde. This city center was the first European colonial settlement in the tropics, and became an important port for trading slaves from Guinea-Bissau and Sierra Leone to Brazil and the Caribbean.
